A NEW RISK MANAGEMENT INDUSTRY IN THE MAKING
Nanyang Technological University’s Insurance Risk and Finance Research Centre (IRFRC) and the Asia-Pacific Risk and Insurance Association (APRIA) each has long established annual conferences. This year, a joint conference will be held in Marina Mandarin, Singapore.
The annual IRFRC Conferences have been in partnership with leading global reinsurer SCOR since 2011. The event combines two prominent annual conferences into one to maximize the participation by academics and professionals from the region and globally.
Specific subject areas such as catastrophic risks, cyber risk, mortality risk, longevity risk, insurance economics, insurance law & regulation, insurance investment, corporate governance, public policy, health care, social insurance, and insurance education/pedagogical issues will be presented. This year’s conference dedicates a half-day programme to report research progress made on the Cyber Risk Management project.
The theme this year is A New Risk Management Industry in the Making.

SCOR Actuarial Prize
“SCOR Actuarial Prize” will be awarded to the best actuarial paper submitted to the joint conference. Applicants must submit completed papers by June 1 to be considered for this award. An independent SCOR Actuarial Prize Committee will select the best paper. Award winner(s) will be announced at the conference.

Founded in 2011, in partnership with global reinsurer SCOR, the Insurance Risk and Finance Research Centre sponsors and directs primary research on insurance and insurance related risk research in the Asia Pacific.
